Courts Open The clean-up and restoration of the Club yesterday and today was a great success. Female assistance was requested and KTP ladies arrived in force and they were, indeed, a force! In all 30 members contributed PLUS one spouse and one sister. Windscreens were hung in 90 minutes – must be worthy of the Guinness book of world records. We then cleaned the debris from the court surface and from and driveways and parking areas. The following contributed (apologies if someone has been inadvertently omitted from this list): Jim Holland, Rich Nye, Chris Bux, Andy Bigalow, David Weihe, David Mathe, Gary, Greenfield, Tom Hughes, Liz McCall, Elizabeth Hervey (husband: Patrick), Cyndee Robertson, Brian Norwood, Peter Onstott, Bob Schick, Tom Hitchcock, Dennis Harbin, Tom Dorsey, Janett Thomas (sister: Liz), Bobby Lundsford, Kassy Sjuggerud, Jay Wolff, Monique Groothuizen, Jane Handscomb, Phil Scanlan, Pam Rea, Frances Blancett, Ruth Carter and Flip Gallion.
Those who volunteer at the Club do so out of love for the Club and the camaraderie that comes from working as a productive team. Volunteer help is requested at Kraft but not expected. That said, if there are members who would have liked to have helped today but couldn’t there are two ways to help the Club fully recover from this storm. First, we will be adding clay in November to at least 5 courts. We will need volunteer assistance, primarily luting the loose material from the courts prior to adding new clay. Your help would be much appreciated. Secondly, the Club will have several expenses associated with this storm: additional clay, roof repair, tree removal, gate hardware, and other supplies. If you would like to help then a modest financial contribution would be greatly appreciated so that our budget will remain in the black this year. This is NOT a request, but simply a suggestion. The Club is financially sound. But we are financially sound because of tremendous volunteer support that comes to us in many different ways.
Thanks to our volunteers. (Please thank one of the volunteers listed above when you see him or her.)
